Hotel Perle is an 11 unit, all suites boutique hotel in New Orleans. We completed a full interior design scope and custom designed most of the furnishings.

As with all our projects, we strive to capture the character of the surrounding location and carry this into our design. The beautiful and intriguing part of New Orleans style is that it's an amalgamation of various design eras and influences. We wanted to capture this dynamic and rich history and honor it with a design that feels collected and evolved with time.

Walking around New Orleans, you are instantly struck by the color palette. We were particularly inspired by the Creole Cottages; a succession of pastel colored houses - one right after the other - in shades of blue, pale yellow and soft pinks. This inspired our color palette for the guestrooms. Each bedroom is enveloped in a different, soft color, each pulled from cottages in New Orleans that we photographed on various trips to site.

The furnishings too are mixed eras and influences. We spent some time antiquing at various shops on famed Magazine Street to incorporate in each guest room. We were struck by the style variation - French colonial influences mixed with the gilded opulence of heirloom quality Louis XV and Louis XVI antiques, next to rattan pieces inspired by the nearby Caribbean. This diversity of styles bring with it a juxtaposition of formality with rusticity - part of the fabric of New Orleans.
